Attorney Liebowitz has handled hundreds of cases and some of them have
set legal precedent or have called current precedent into question in
favor of his clients.
These landmark cases include:
State of New York vs. Sacco, 242 N.J.Super. 699 (L. Div 1990) which proved that civil contempt sanctions are not punitive and therefore
not subject to the penal exception of the full faith and credit clause
of the U.S. Constitution
Wei vs Wei, 248 N.J.Super. 572 (App. Div. 1991) which established that although remarried, a husbands' primary obligations
are to his first family.
Vitrano vs. Schiffman, 305 N.J.Super. 572 (App. Div. 1997) which said that doctors in a medical malpractice claim may offer an expert
opinion before a jury based on facts not in medical records.
State of New Jersey vs. Sotomayor (unpublished, App. Div. 2007) which said that an accused has the constitutional right to cross examine
the alleged victim about dismissal of charges against the witness to show bias.
