Two additional men from Jersey City, New Jersey were recently charged in a
weapons offense case involving the purchase of a pair of Nike Air Jordan shoes for Christmas.
The alleged weapons crime occurred at the Newport Centre Mall on December
22 and allegedly involved at least three 19-year-old men.
A few days before Christmas, a 20-year-old shopper was stabbed multiple
times while waiting in line to a buy a new pair of Nike Air Jordan sneakers
at the Newport Centre Mall. According to the 20-year-old, he was in line

have been charged with weapons offenses, aggravated assault and conspiracy
to commit aggravated assault. Video from a mall security camera helped

At a court hearing yesterday, one of the men attempted to defend himself
by explaining a weapon was not visible in the video recording of the incident.
The man's public defender advised him to exercise his right to remain silent.
