According the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, an assistant track and bowling coach at an area high school has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a student.
The Park Ridge High School coach, 24, is accused of being in a sexual relationship with the student from 2009 until she graduated.
The Woodcliff Lake man was being held at the Bergen County Jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond after he was taken into custody by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit in Park Ridge.
The alleged sexual relationship reportedly began soon after the man was hired to work at the school.
Early this year, a male math teacher at the school was accused of having a sexual relationship with another female student for two years.
The Garfield man, 28, was a popular teacher.
A news article on his arrest said authorities were told of the alleged relationship by another teacher.
The man was accused in January of having sex with the student while she was a junior and senior at the school.
The age of consent in New Jersey is 16.
In an unrelated incident, a Hackensack man, 50, was recently indicted on charges that he attempted to lure a girl, 15, into an empty school bus.
The maintenance worker was accused by law enforcement officials back in March of seeing the girl walking alone as he drove the bus in Bogota.
He was accused of stopping the vehicle, stepping out and talking to the teen before hugging her and pulling her into the bus.
The two spoke for a few minutes inside the bus and then the girl left the vehicle, prosecutors said.
An indictment by a Bergen County grand jury charges him with luring a child to an isolated area and also with child endangerment.
