Bergen County Prosecutor's Office arrests 20 on drug charges

Twenty people in Bergen County and five neighboring counties were recently arrested during a law enforcement sweep looking for people without outstanding warrants for drug trafficking, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.

That office's Narcotic Task Force carried out the sweep in the following counties: Bergen, Union, Passaic, Essex, Morris and Middlesex.

The warrants involved allegations of dealing drugs including cocaine, heroin, marijuana, ecstasy and prescription drugs.

Two of the people arrested are from Garfield. One is a woman, 30, accused of marijuana distribution, possession of marijuana and possession of Percocet; and the other is a man, 23, accused of distribution of marijuana.

The task force said the series of arrests are the result of its year-long undercover operation.
