When one is passed a certain age, it can be incredibly difficult to remember what it was like to be a teenager. Trying to explain why teens do the things they do can be an impossible task. They are kids and kids make mistakes.
Today, when teens screw up, their screw-ups end up online for the world to see. This is the case for a group of teens from a New Jersey high school. Various school fights involving students have drawn criticism from the public who's had a chance to view them on Facebook. Is it a high school "Fight Club?"
The specific school where the student fights occurred and were taped has seen a relatively high amount of violence in the month of March. The suspicion is that the several incidents of assault took place in the New Jersey school because of the existence of a Facebook page devoted to the subject matter.
The creator of the site has not been identified but he has reportedly taken down the fight videos since word of the controversy got out. Though the videos are down, this situation still brings up the matter of how easy it is for teens to put themselves in the path to become targets of criminal charges.
More and more, law enforcement relies on the popular video documentation and sharing of photos and videos to support cases against criminal suspects, including teenagers. Facebook videos like those that have stirred up dispute in the New Jersey community realistically could pose a threat to the futures of the teens involved.
